Presented by Dr. Ann Marie Mires – Forensic Anthropologist
This compelling and moving presentation will focus on the recovery of Molly Bish from a wooded hillside in Palmer, MA three years after she was abducted from her lifeguard post (June 27, 2000 – Warren, MA). The recovery entailed a systematic grid search of 35 acres utilizing Special Emergency Response Teams from the state police. Through the identification of Molly, Dr. Mires came to know the Bish family and partnered with John Bish, Molly’s father, to advocate for missing children and proper recovery protocols at the time a person goes missing.
Dr. Mires’ own research evolved from the recovery of Molly to ask questions about why people are not found right away after their disappearance and how searchers can do a better job trying to locate them, even after considerable time has passed.
